• At an event held this Friday, July 18, in A Coruña.
• Also awarded were philologist and emeritus professor Xosé Ramón Freixeiro Mato, in the individual category; and the projects CeibaRimas and Galego para peques, jointly recognized in the category for initiatives aimed at younger audiences.
• In her speech, deputy Sol Agra emphasized that all the recipients “are the pride of those who love our language” and that “their work keeps the flame of our culture and identity alive.”

“For being a pioneering educational and cultural initiative that has been promoting the use of the Galician language in real, creative, and intergenerational contexts since 1995,” the jury highlighted in awarding the 16th Rosalía de Castro Language Prize in the category of organizations to the Cultural and Educational Association Ponte… nas ondas!
The award ceremony took place this Friday, July 18, in A Coruña. During the gala, deputy Sol Agra referred to PNO!’s “participatory and cross-border methodology,” “with involvement from numerous educational centers in Galicia and Portugal,” and recalled that the project has become a powerful tool for the appreciation, normalization, and international projection of the Galician language, having been endorsed and recognized by UNESCO as a model of best practices in intangible cultural heritage.
Sol Agra praised PNO!’s dedication to defending the Galician language and intangible heritage, highlighting the work of the organization and the awardees in proudly keeping the flame of our culture and identity alive. She also celebrated the value of PNO!’s work, rooted in the educational community—a labor that inspires hope and gratitude and aligns perfectly with the goals of the Rosalía de Castro Language Awards: to make visible, promote, and support that unwavering commitment that refuses to give in to pessimism and is a source of joy and celebration.
