EPAPU (Public Center for Adult Continuing Education) Albeiros in Lugo celebrated the end of the school year this Friday, June 20, with the presentation of the 1st María Xosé Rodríguez Valcárcel Award to the association Ponte… nas ondas!
As recalled by the current director of the center, Amalia Vázquez, in her tribute to the late author and educator, PNO! embodies the spirit of building bridges that María Xosé Rodríguez Valcárcel championed and defended. For this reason, the center considered the association worthy of inaugurating the award’s journey. The award’s promoters emphasized that PNO! carries out selfless and supportive work with educational institutions, “and does so in Galician, enriched in this case by the sister language Portuguese. A bridge of solidarity indeed.” EPAPU Albeiros thus considers Ponte… nas ondas! the ideal example to launch this award, which honors the memory of a person distinguished by her knowledge, her love for teaching, and her devotion to culture.
